Hello everyone!

Well, I have been having contractions pretty consistent since yesterday....so I know any moment I will be having this baby! I promise to post lots of pics as soon as we know what the baby is!! I'll keep you guys posted!!

Some things that he released from CHA is not available yet...but when it is...we will have it! Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all of you! Hope you guys are spending your day with the ones that you love...

I wanted to share a few projects I have been working on for easter...all of these projects were really, really simple and very easy to complete even if you are not an experienced scrapbooker or crafter!! You can do it...I promise!

So, I love when I find a good deal on tin cans...I go crazy and want to buy everyone in the store. I recently found these precious tin cans from Target (I mean what can't you find at Target??). So here is what I did...I cut vinyl letters on my cricut (if you haven't cut vinyl on your cricut yet....you need to try...it is so easy....and we have almost every color vinyl at the store...we'll even give you a little piece to experiment with....or we can even show you how to cut it on your cricut...if you need vinyl ask one of the employees at the store...because we have it in the back of the store, not out on the shelves!) I love using vinyl on home decor / altered projects because it is so easy to work with and if you don't like where you stuck it...you can always peel it right up and place it where you want! I cut a tag out using an existing tag I already had, then I punched the frog out using my stampin up circle punch (size 1 3/8"), after that I punched a scallop circle out with my stampin up scallop circle punch...I distressed the edges of the paper, added some ribbon to the side of the tin bucket, put tissue paper at the bottom of the bucket...and stuffed it with little easter goodies! So, easy and the project is completed in no time!! Jacques gave this to his best friend...Hayes today!

Another great use for these mini tin buckets...mini flower pots! I made two of them today...one for my mother in law and one for my mom.

On the first one, I first wrapped Stampin Up twill tapearound the bucket. If you have never used twill tape before...you need some...it is awesome....you can stamp on it, ink it, distress it, embellish with it...the list goes on and on! Then I tied some twine around the bucket a few times, punched a circle using my stampin up 1 3/4" circle punch (I used craft paper to punch the circle...if you are looking for really great craft paper...stampin up sells the best) I then used some Studio Calicostickers from the Home Front Collection for "Home Sweet Home" (those stickers can be found at the store). I tied a little house chipboard with the twine and glued down the initial "H". I used my hot glue gun for both of the tin buckets...to glue the initial down and the craft circle & "Mia" tag...I usually never whip out my hot glue gun, but I wanted everything to stay in place and not move...and hot glue did that right away for me!

This tin can I got from Michaels the other day...it was in the Easter section...on clearance! I wish I would have gotten more...I'm going back as soon as I get a chance, but I'm sure they will be out (but you can achieve this look with any tin!)

First, the tin was an easter blue color....so I had to change that! I used my Lumiere paint (color: Super Copper) and painted the tin with one light coat. Then I cut a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch square and adhered it down with modge podge. I then took a small piece of vintage dictionary paper and gathered it in the center and glued it down to the paper (we have some for sell at the store...in case you don't have a vintage dictionary hanging around...if you haven't noticed....I usually put dictionary paper on almost all my altered projects and scrapbooking pages...I'm really addicted!) Next I stamped the circle and the saying "fan mail" on to craft paper and then used my stampin up circle punch (1 3/4" punch) to punch the circle out. The stamps I used are from Stampin up. I tied some easter springs to the side of the tin with vintage ribbon. Last, I put some handmade cards in the can (I picked various cards and various sizes to give my sister a variety...) You can hang the tin and put your mail in it or you can give it as a gift and include cards in it. I made this for my sister...she doesn't get into crafts/scrapbooking, but she will love the idea of having cards already made for her...she can just grab and sign! After the cards are used she can put mail, cards that she has received, or I can continue giving her handmade cards!! 

Remember if you like any of the stampin up products that I have used on my projects...you can always place an order with me or host a party and earn free products (email me and I can give you more information on it). Happy Easter...Store Hours!

Happy Easter weekend to you guys!

Just to let you know....Scrapalicious will be open today from Friday, April 2nd 10:00 am - 6:00 pm and Saturday, April 3rd from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Many people have called and wanted to know when the new products would be here...we are receiving a large shippment on Monday....so I'll be working hard to make sure those products are out on the self  asap!

Stampin up class this Saturday & Crop!

Hey guys!

Just a reminder that Saturday, March 27th at 11:00 am we are having our monthly stampin up class. Also, we are having a crop for those of you who need to catch up on some scrappin!! The store opens at 10:00 am so you can come early or late (but you are free to crop until the wee hours of the morning if you want!)  For those of you who have never been to one of my stampin up classes...please join me if your schedule is open.  Each month I teach various stampin techniques, card making skills, and/or creative projects using some of my favorite products from stampin up! Here are the projects we are doing on Saturday...

The easter bunny that you see is made from clay!! It looks like a real chocolate bunny in person! If you haven't been to the store in a while...one of my wonderful customers Ms. Myrna Bourg is now making handmade clay buttons and embellishments for the store! They are so cute and they are flying off the shelf! This chocolate bunny was stamped using one of the wooden stamps from the stampin up catalog...it really came out adorable!

The 2nd project that we will be doing on Saturday...is a skinny notebook made with stampin up cardstock. This is such an easy project to make....my title is websites and blogs, but you can make a skinny little notebook for your grocery list, to do list, creative ideas, etc....

It is prefect to keep next to your computer, in your purse, or on your desk...right there for you to jot down all the important things in your life!!

The projects will be in the store so you guys can see how they were made.

This past Friday we had a crop and I had so much fun catching up with friends...I love hanging out with these girls...here are a few pics that I took....but I feel a little bad because I didn't get to snap pics of every one at the crop...

Kendra had so much fun....we stayed at the store until 4 am (we didn't want to leave...I haven't got to do that in a while!!) She is coming back for round 2 this weekend....can't wait!!

Her and Nicole are singing their hearts out...to some of our favorite 80's jams!!

Nicole is getting a little crazy with her scissors!! Poor Ash!!

Sneak peak...into Baby Holloway's room!

Hey guys!

If any of you have been by the store lately you have probably seen me waddling around with Baby Holloway (in case you didn't know...we are going to be surprised by the sex of the baby....so if it is a boy his name will be Andre' Michael and if it is a girl her name will be Juliette Marie!!) As Jacques says it is "Baby Andre' "....he really doesn't understand that mommie could be having a girl...he doesn't think that is a possibility!!  But, we shall see in a few more weeks (or maybe days!) This pregnancy has really knocked me off my feet...this is so different from Jacques!! I have been having contractions since 30 weeks and on Sunday I make 34 weeks...so my dr. said if I could make it to the beginning of April he will take me off all the meds that I have been taking every day to stop the pre-term labor! So, based on my doctors request I have been taking it easy, but that is really hard when I always have a million in one things going on. I work in a private practice full time, own a business, have a 2 1/2 year old, in graduate school, and the list goes on and on...so slowing down has been a challenge for me...but I have to say a must!! But, I have to say that I am thankful that God has given me this time to just slow down because I never know when to and right now I don't have a choice and it is really nice to take this time to rest and just be with my family.

So, I have learned that most people don't want to be surprised any more...so it is extremely hard to find gender neutral decor for a babies room (expect if you really like green and yellow...and I can't stand those two colors together!) So...I thought of my favorite colors and what I had envisioned for the baby's room and just went with it...I was a little nervous when my husband started to paint the walls because as he said "Vera this is a little girlie don't you think"....well once everything started coming together I think he realized that it could go either way....but once the baby does arrive....we will definitely make it more gender specific!

Here is a piece of art work that I made to hang on the wall above the baby's bed...

I used an old window and completely went with the vintage them for the entire room...If you know me...you probably wouldn't expect anything else...I love anything vintage...

 

The color I painted the walls is called elephant gray (I got the color out of the pottery barn kids magazine), the furniture is white (the armorie is an old cedar chest that Seth remodeled and painted, the baby bed is an old jenny lynn bed that was repainted, and the rest of the furniture in the room are random antique pieces). I'm not complete with everything but once I am I will post more pics...

Jacques got a new room too...and I am working on lots of different projects for his room so once everything is done with that...I will post pics!

Here is a vintage baby bottle and a old mansion jar that I have displayed in the room...I bought a few vintage baby bottles years ago (before I ever had children), but I new they would come in handy one day!

Faith 365 Event....

Hey guys...

I'm so excited to share with you all the wonderful event that Scrapalicious will be attending at the end of April! This event is completely up my ally and I really can't wait to bring the store and share with everyone all the wonderful vintage goodies that I will have for sale.

Cricut Class this Saturday!

Hi everyone!

Just to let you know that this Saturday, March 6th at 1:00 pm Ms. Jan Crochet will be teaching a Cricut Class at the store! You guys are sure to learn lots from her!! All participants will be etching on glass (wine glasses), learning how to cut and use vinyl, cut various embellishments and chipboard letters for your layout. If you are interested in learning more about your cricut machine, but don't feel like you even know the basics...don't worry you will still be able to manage this class...we are here to help you!

Class Cost: $25

Supplies to bring to class:

-Your cricut machine (and a small extension cord)

-2 mats (either new or fairly new)

-make sure to have a new cricut blade (or fairly new one)

-Adhesive and pop dots

-Scissors

-Any of your cricut tools

-Paper cutter

 

Optional items (that will be used in class, so if you have them please bring it)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to wish you all a happy valentine's day...hope you get to share this special day with the ones you love! I know I will!

So, I have a few days off of work and school...so check back soon...I will be posting lots of projects!!
